Run4Hope is in memory of Harper Elle Howard, who lost her battle to CDKL5 disorder on Jan. 8, 2016. Worldwide, there are fewer than 1,000 diagnosed cases of this rare, life-threatening genetic disorder. But one in 22 people around the world have epilepsy—so research to relieve seizures will help millions who suffer daily. The funds raised by Run4Hope will support studies by Frances Jensen, M.D, epileptologist at the University of Pennsylvania, and Alysson Muotri, Ph.D., stem cell neuroscientist at the University of California, San Diego, where Harper’s organ donation to further research benefiting a multitude of disorders, currently lives.
